hi guys i recently bought a bonded pair of budgies that are ready to breed, i bought them from a repotable breeder. they have all the essentials in there cage such a cuttle bone , egg food, minerals, perches etc. so i had a nest box put in and they did not even look at it for more than a seconds , so a week went by and i decided to put millet in there, and now they are always going in and out sometimes stay in there for upto 5 minutes, my problem is they have been going in and out of the nest for 2-3 days now and they are not breeding, they are constantly preening each other and singing , males bobbing his head , females chewing the entrance, all these sign and still not breeding/mating , is it possible that they now see then nest box as a food place and not actually a nest , please help , is this all normal.
p.s previous owners said they were getting nesting and removing materials , thats why he sold before they mated.
so what might happen from now guys? will they ever breed please help.

How long have you had them? Sounds like only a short time. The birds will need to settle down in their new environment before feeling the urge to start the breeding process. Why not give them a couple of months or more to settle down again, and then if you see the bonding taking place reintroduce the nest box? I think you need to be a little more patient; your time frames all round sound very short to me.
