Make the most of the quiet time because it does not last. If Jo quiet I put youtube on and budgies chirping and singing and Jo starts tweeting away (sorry chirping her little toes can't manage the keys on the Ipad yet to start tweeting). I tweeted once, I have an account but for the life of me I don't know where the tweet went, I never found it Sue, the only tweeting that happens in my house is by the birds. My birds are going to TWEET. They tweeted before anyone fool person came along and made it a form of human communication! And they will continue to do so. So there! That's telling them! Whoever "them" is.

I have never gone to such rigorous lengths with my perches-to-be, but then I probably don't have to worry about some of the nasties that you guys do either. Mine get a good scrub down in hot soapy water, a vinegar/water rinse and a day or two's drying in the sun. As for how to fix them in the cage, depends on whether your bars run horizontally or vertically. Vertically makes it easy as you can simply whittle down the ends to slot between the bars, making sure you leave the fit reasonably tight, otherwise you might find bud riding the perch to the floor of the cage. It does give them a fright the first few times.
