This morning I have caught, and ministered to, four of my five little darlings: Smudge as per every day, morning meds .... okay, that works generally rather well; next came Misty, I bit the bullet and this morning instead of trying to file off his beak, clipped it with the nail clippers, just the tiniest little bit, a quick little file and off he went ..... that went rather well too; Sparky was getting around with a feather stuck to his beak, so he was next up - feather was in his mouth as well, so pull that out and good riddance. Last, but by no means, the least, after a little research regarding Mango and her calcium issue, trying to find anything by which I could speed up her calcium intake found that the calcium I have can be administered directly, so catch the little madam up and the fun began. Mango has not had to be man-handled for any sort of forceful dosing before, and didn't the little madam perform!!!! Anyone would have thought I was murdering her, but by heck, it certainly made the job of getting it into her so easy! Squawk, squawk, squawk, gulp!

Some would agree, OP, and these were all for their own good.

They are in good hands, Hezz Thanks, BB, but I have been remiss ..... the calcium and Mango is my own medicine to swallow.

Thank you. But I should have been aware ..... I thought I had it covered, but I didn't. Not everything is in our hand, and somethings are beyond our control.

Takes time Hezz doing all these 'budgie' chores I know. At the moment I only have Harvey to tend to, plus the odd chicken of course!! You do such a good job with your buddies and seem so patient.

What a hectic morning for you and the buds . Its amazing how a morning can disappear with bits like that. I hope you've been forgiven

Mango sulked for a bit; when it came time for her to go back into the cage and Misty to have his time out, she gave me the run-around for a bit, whereas usually she (and he) is very accommodating, But next time round she was fine. She got another one this morning, and already doesn't seem as indignant about the whole process. Misty may even have preferred his treatment to the normal filing; over and done with much more quickly.

I used to just nip the end of piper's with the nail clippers too Hezz, much quicker and less stressful for us both and he got used to it in the end . Is the egg laying slowing down now they have separate times out or is it too soon to tell.
