hiya a while ago i have a mate a bird because he could do with the company then he bought another off of me a couple weeks after. anyways today he knocks on my door with bad news saying they have both died and with his voice i could tell how broken he was about it i didnt know what to say to comfort him. anyways anyone got any idea on what could have cause them to died so close in time together. i was told they had been acting fine then he woke up that morning to find one on the floor in the corner with the other sitting on top of it he put her in a box then scrubbed the cage and everything was fine the other budgie was sad but still eating and drinking behaviour was normal then he went out came back and she was also dead in the same corner

Sorry to hear about your mates loss:( My guess of the cause of such a sudden death in both birds is poisoning. Perhaps through house hold cleaning agents, Air fresheners, plug ins especially, scented candles etc. Maybe teflon fron pans or even bad seed or millet spray. Alot of millet spray sold in pet shops now is way below standard.

Rest in Peace, little ones. So sorry for your friend's loss. I agree, it might be poisoning.

This is really sad. Yes it may be poisoning or some killer bacteria.

I know what you mean with the millet I see alot of them off colour and not looking right. I end up avoiding those altogether.
