I also use his iodine, vitamins and mineral supplements two days per week. I've often wondered if this is why my bird never ever touches his cuttlebone or iodine block. Perhaps he feels no need for it. My breeding hens only go for cuttlebones if for some reason I am unable to provide them with liquid calcium supplement in drinking water. Cuttlebones are untouched most of the time.

It could be that BB's tap water isn't as good as your tap water in England, Joey. That's right. Tap water is so bad and salty in some places that people have hair fall issues. But I have also seen people in UK buying bottled water for drinking instead of tap water.

People do here too, BB and while there is a difference between cities' water, generally our water is pretty good, taste -wise. It is the mentality of people that has them going out and spending heaps on bottled water, rather than using the tap. I only use the boiled water so that the budgies' water is safer for them. For myself, the tap water is fine. If a cyclone is imminent I see people buying 100's of litres of bottled water, when all they have to do is fill up bins, buckets, baths, sinks etc, to see them through, if the water is cut off. What a waste of money and plastics!

I do not use cider vinegar but think i may start using it.
So let me get this right, i am at the moment using iodine in the water for the first 7 days of the month, then i will be using abidec for a week in the middle of the month the calcivet for the last 7 days. So should i put the cider vinegar in the water for 3 days of the month also? Is there something that i am doing wrong?
