This may seem like a silly question, but are whole dried kernels of corn and whole dried soybeans ok to give to budgies? I just opened a new bag of food I am trying which is basically an organic blend of seeds and other things (for parakeets) but I feel hesitant about giving it to Booj because of those unexpected large particles (which I can only find listed as 'ground' on the bag btw.) His other food was similar but without the soybeans and corn. I mean I know they like to gnaw and crack but just want to make sure he won't end up with a soybean lodged in his throat..... Thanks!!! Jackie

I have no idea about them dry, Jackie. I don't ever remember anyone talking about them either. I do know they like corn fresh, generally, and the only thing I could see about soybeans is "be careful". Apparently they need to be treated within an inch of their life to be safe as they are naturally quite toxic - I didn't know that, never been interested enough to look them up. If in doubt, pick 'em out! Until you hear from someone with first hand knowledge, anyway.
