Well, as it's going to be in Wales (STC) as they say in the estate agents lingo, I'd better take a lead from Dylan Thomas ...... To begin at the beginning ........... This is the3 beginning ........ welcome to my new birdroom NOT THE CARAVAN)! All being well with the survey and our combined house sales and god knows what else that can snatch defeat from the jaws of .... etc , etc. The barn is 39' 8" long and 14' 6" wide and on two floors. That great car park in front of it is nowhere near as big as it looks. Estate agents must have special 'lying through the teeth' cameras built specially for taking misleading piccies. However, I digress ...... The walls, floors and roof are good and no-one's breaking those windows - not in their current state anyway. It's got electricity laid on but no water unfortunately but that's just an inconvenince (and cost). The plan is only very loose at present but you are looking at the south-east face which I will run flights off. Fingers crossed ........

Hi Barrie, I trust I find you well despite your flu jab. I had mine a couple of weeks ago but had no ill-effects except a slight itching for a day or two. However, 'nuf about matters medical. I'm planning a move to Wales in the fairly near future, into the house which stands in front of ye olde barn that's trying to hide behind the caravan you see in the pic'. Not sure when I'll get there and indeed there are plenty of hoops to jump through yet before it's all tied up (or down). I'll keep you informed. Won my first couple of Rosettes recently with one of my own luts - couldn't believe it. Put two birds in and disappeared for a few hours, came back and the guy on the door gave me an envelope and said I'd won best red eye! Truth was I'd entered the only two red eyes in the show! What a farce! Ha! Ha! Hardly show quality but these are my last couple of clutches. Nothing paired up now due to the anticipated move. Start again when we get moved in (if it happens).

What are you planning to keep in bird room? Ummmmmm! We are starting from a position on having some zebra finches, budgies, (mainly luts at present), various lovebirds and some Bourkes, a Senegal parrot and four chipmunks. We've also got hamsters, gerbils and a guinea pig, two cats and a setter. We will be adding to that a few chickens and a pygmy goat or two. Oh, and - as far from the house as is practicable, a beehive. I expect I'll also get myself a cockatoo, maybe sulphur crested or umbrella. They won't all be in the birdroom I hasten to add. I forsee a micro-zoo. Watch this space ............

I now know where to start. I retain Gerwynmr2 and Lorna! I'll get the job done for next to nothing and to a high standard.
