Hi, my budgie Joey has stayed fluffed up all day, when i get him out he normally fly's round but didn't today he came and hopped on my finger for the first time but stayed fluffed. He is eating as normal but he stayed fluffed up is this normal or is he ill?

In such situations, I normally put a white paper in the cage bottom to see the color of the poop in order to find out the problem. For a start you can keep the cage covered from three side and keep Joey warm.

In a situation like this when we know the bird is unwell we must use a well documented procedure and we must also keep our first aid budgie box stocked up.
A birds body temperature is 40 degrees centigrade so heat and isolation is very important and must be actioned in the first instance , I use an electric propagator with shavings on the floor and this works well.
using exact rearing food ( add it to your first aid box) i feed it direct into the crop at 35 degrees centrigade, instant warmth coupled with the propagator heat will work wonders.
Drink is important or the bird will dehydrate, add guarding angel ( another must for the first aid box) to the water and make sure the bird drinks plenty in the next few days, again directly into the crop is much better.
