This year hasn't been very successful re breeding. I have a small aviary of 9 birds that have three nest boxes available to them. I let them pair up naturally. I have one strongly bonded pair who are very good at laying eggs. However I either find the eggs tossed out of the nest box or find maybe only one hatches whilst the other eggs the yolk has dried up inside. They bred fine last year, any idea why they haven't this year?

You will find lots of problems like this with colony breeding. The hens will raid each other nest boxes and throw out the eggs and even kill any chicks.

Stop colony breeding and you'll be more likely to succeed

I agree colony breeding is a bad idea, dont agree with it to many problems happen with other birds destroying eggs and chicks separate them like most folk higher breeding rate be more successful
