Hi all, just a quick update, budgie is still alive and well and when he tried to fly, he didn't seem to have as much of a balance problem. I hope that with rest he will be able to fly again. I will post an update if anything new and exciting happens.
He's also singing a little, especially when the washing machine is running. :-) Seems like a happy little bird.

That is good news Ulrike. Does budgie have a name yet? No, he doesn't have a name, yet. You said he might be a girl so we haven't given him/ her a name. And if I leave the name-giving to my husband, the poor bird will be scarred for life. ;-)

Yesterday the owner of the budgie came, I had already told her on the phone that he can't fly and she arrived here with no intention of having the bird back. She said the birds (almost 20 or so) are in an aviary outside and she has cats indoors so can't have the budgie inside. Thing is, we have the birds outside in a shed and aviary and cats indoors and yet we can have the budgie indoors. So I think she just didn't want a damaged budgie that may need, God forbid, veterinary tests and treatments. As far as the budgie is concerned, coming here is probably like a win in the lottery for him. He is called Tweety now by the way. :-) And it looks like the wing is slowly recovering.

Yeah, thanks to you, Tweety will have the life he deserves... one filled with love and good care.

Good on you FL! Tweety will be a new bird now, away from someone with little care. So pleased she is making progress with her wing so hopefully she will be back flying soon. Will you keep her inside, or pop her out into your aviary?

We'll keep Tweety inside as long as he can't fly. But when he can fly, he'll go outside as he seems to want to be with the other birds. Plus it would definitely be safer for him. But right now I fear he would hurt himself if he was out in the aviary and tried to fly...

Good luck, Tweety. Get those little wings working again, little bird.
