The building project will still be there so look after your mum. She is lucky to have a son like you and deserves the best care at 96. My son in law is losing his mum to gangrene and she is only in her 80's. It is a hard time.

Life is not always a bowl of cherries.
Aviary is at a full-stop. My mother nearly didn't make it... it's a long haul back.
She is now at our local hospital in a rehabilitation ward where they aim to try to get her back on her feet so, hopefully, she can eventually come home to watch the budgies again.
Christmas day will see me at the hospital with her. Life could be worse... she is still with us.
Hope everyone enjoys the holiday.

Oh. I hope your Christmas is a good one, Learner. You deserve a bit of a break, but I guess that will not be happening for some time ........ Take care of yourself, as well; that is just as important. xx

Sorry to hear about your mum, Learner. As I said in my last post the aviary project will still be there when you are ready to pick it up again. Take great care and see you when you are ready. Remember that enjoying ones self is not always enjoying ones self, sometimes it is bringing a little enjoyment to some one else.

We are still not extended... but we are mostly in one piece:
My mother was moved to a local hospital - still there now but literally getting back on her feet. My wife up & down the railway lines to look after her dad as he was in hospital before Christmas. I went in (as they had a cancellation) on 30th Dec for theatre so now gradually recovering...
It's not been the best Christmas or New Year. But.. thank heavens for the nhs & their dedicated staff.

5:30am and all is well. My mum home yesterday. Me improving. My father-in-law home with my wife in London... improving. Budgies' heater keeping the chill at bay. Looking forward to brighter warmer days.. hoping to get back to my own bed in the not too distant future. Wishing you all warmth

Wishing you greater things Learner. You have been through the roughest of times, but seem to be looking at the sunshine at the end of the tunnel. As long as it's not a train coming the other way.
