Thanks everyone..... Now the wait to see if I am infection free and my kidneys are up to the op on Thursday. I won't know until Wednesday but.. I have a feeling it might be another delay until the Thursday after.
I feel rotten for those who have had their appointments cancelled to make way for me. Such a fuss for everyone.
Meanwhile in the aviary.. a tiny spot of bother with Tom who is being just a bit too bossy. I will post elsewhere about him later little so & so!

After a rather painful time I am now stone, stent and catheter free!!!
Feeling wonderful.. I can walk, sit, sleep, cycle and just get on with life including visiting the bathroom without hurting all over.
Operation went pretty well but I was left with 1.2 litres of fluid in my bladder and there it stopped - Ouch. A panic on to get a catheter in place - Junior doctor had the sense to phone for a urology registrar and, between, them I ended up with a bit more pipe-work than I would have liked... But oh was it lovely to feel the pressure abate.
After that performance I agreed to stay in for one night to make sure everything was in working order.
One week later (after feeling really uncomfortable despite pain killers) I went to hospital again and all the added plumbing was removed.
Now to give my son a nudge and my latest plans for the inside flight..... this extension just has to be underway for the warmer weather.
Hope all is going well in the world of feathers and chirps. Learner.

So... just for a change.... all is well Measurements made for an inside flight - construction to begin mid-week as my son will be home while his van is serviced. After that the outside flight is next. Hope all is well for everyone.

I can't believe almost an entire year has slipped by and the extension still isn't finished.
The inside flight is underway - the main frame done. Once I've tackled the veg plot and the decorating bug evaporates I really must get on with it!!

It's no good decorating in poor light, artificial light is not good enough. That's what my brother in law said and he was a painter and decorator by trade. So I believe him. That's my excuse for procrastinating. One has to do the outside jobs while the sun is shining. Oops there goes the light again which means more delay for the decorating. On the plus side I don't have some-one nagging me to do the decorating. Which is a good job else I would be doing it in poor light. The bug will return Learner. Keep on with the outside work and the aviary of course. The downside of being on ones own is having to stop to make a brew.

The decorating is coming along nicely (?) - I have no enthusiasm for doing anything at all but have managed to plant the seed potatoes and plant out the shallots. I have finally clambered up some steps and sorted out a couple of electric cables - 1 for the clock and another for the cooker-hood... both needed attention (I'm told). Job done. Tomorrow I'm off to cut the lawns at my late mum's bungalow to keep it tidy for the neighbours... Getting off to sleep before the small hours would be useful... I'd feel more like facing the mornings. Nice to have lighter longer evenings at last.
