Right I am in the process of designing my aviary before I attempt any building work. I have drawn up to plans bit for my brick shed which is going to be converted. I want to keep budgies and finches and breed both. The first design has the one indoor flight to house both budgies and finches with access to the outdoor flight at all times. Then the second has a smaller indoor flight connected to the outside one for the budgies and another smaller indoor one with no access to the outside Which set up do you think will be more practical? Bearing in mind it is to be done in a 10 foot by 7 foot by 7foot shed. All opinions and advice appreciated Thanks..

Both have pros and cons, but what I see in the second plan is the perfect place to have the nursery flight - the smaller flight straight in front of the door. If you lift the floor up as well, so the newly fledged chicks don't hurt themselves when they crash, you will have room under for storage as well. Of course you could always section off part of the flight in the first plan and do the same there.

I would go with no1, as Hezz says both have pros/cons.
