Thank you very much feathers  I had read conflicting things about nesting material such as wood shavings so I didn't bother in the end. Instead left as much usable material around for mum to use if she wanted (not 100% sure I made the right choice or not). But valuable info as I read on from your link about leaving the eggs in and that it can help against splayed legs and the pressure of mum laying on the chicks.. Thank you for posting |

(this is what I mean about not being very comfortable for mum trying to sleep!)

Poor mum. She's so good with them though the way she nestles them under her wing. This is more riveting to watch than any soap opera.
