Some action... The eldest one left the nest last night and the little one didn't want to be on it's own and left this morning. A bit too young I think so have been helping it a bit with some weaning and so far so good.

The bug really has bitten you Gareth. There'll be budgies abound from now on. Well done though. From knowing nothing to where you are now.

Thanks OP As lovely as it has been seeing them grow from egg to bud I have taken the nest box out. Looking forward to getting the aviary back to normal now and enjoying them all. Woody's brother and sister (until we know the genders) are called Buzz and Willow

They are both gorgeous. It was so cute seeing them both out of the nest.

So Mr G, now that the nest box is no longer available, those two little bud-lets might appreciate a hide, the little one especially so. I think this has already been mentioned when Woody was THE baby .... of course now Woody is the big grown-up brother ..... what lovely additions to the budgie family you have there. Was that Izzy or Rio on the floor with the chicks? I didn't blow it up full screen ......

Hi Hezz. Yes I've put Woody's faithful little shoe box home in there but they found a comfy spot in the towel and snuggled up together last night. That was Izzy with them. I thought she was being a bit aggressive to them and pecking them. I watched them for a while thinking about taking them out and bringing them in but it seemed she was pecking them to force them in the direction of the food (so far). I have seen her feed them both now so that's put my mind at rest a bit but I think I've put everything they need in there too just in case. The others are desperate to meet them but mum is only letting dad in and not the others so far!

Not sure how you can keep your hands off them .................... Izzy is a great mum. I don't think you need worry any more about her. You've all "done good".

Izzy is doing such a good job. She might still have to feed the youngest for a few days yet ....... not that I would dare try to teach her how to suck eggs ........

Yes I think so. Have been watching her today and she seems to feed the little one for about 2 seconds then peck it out of the way! The little one seems so confused (me too!) if anyone has had this happen to them or has any advice it would be welcome thanks...

I'd guess that she's trying to encourage him to fend for himself?
