I thought I'd share a recipe with you for a delicious chocolate log that we have been making in our family since I found the recipe in a school library book circa 1984! If you don't like pud this might float your boat instead... Whip a large pot of cream with icing sugar and cocoa powder. Use a couple of tablespooons of icing sugar and probably the same of cocoa powder but it is really dependant on how choccy you want the flavour. Use half of the chocolate cream to sandwich together a packet of digestive biscuits into a nice long log roll. You want to be spreading the cream about 1cm (or half inch if you're as old as me dad ;D) between each biscuit. Wrap the whole thing in foil and put it in the fridge overnight.... Have a glass of wine (very important at this stage ) Next day unwrap it carefully as the biscuits will be quite soft now, then use the rest of the cream to add the "bark" all over your log, forking it up nicely, then sprinkle a bit of icing sugar snow on it just before you serve it. When you cut it, cut at an angle so you get a stripy slice of biscuit and cream rather than mainly one or the other in each portion. Be warned, this is rich and you won't need much!! I've never met anyone yet who hasn't liked it so if you decide to try it let me know what you think.

Would love to try it Sarah, but I am NOT going to brave the shops again until after Christmas. Things are just a little too mad out there for me now!
