Terrific going Marianne, keep up the good work. D'you have the thigh-high boots to go with the gold hot-pants??? Do you find it harder to exercise when the weather turns? For me it is the worst thing about living in the tropics - it is just so damn hot! And I remember you don't like hot weather - I get up before the sun and get my walk in before it turns really steamy. Matt, yep, I'm with Marianne here with the biting fingers - I too have paid the price for chewing nails in my childhood - I don't have nice looking nails now that I can grow them. But it seems to be a computer habit - my son has started doing the same thing but not to the extent I used to. I realise you are talking about the sides of your fingers, not so much the nails themselves, but something that worked for a friend is to put bandaids on your fingertips - pretty horrid to put in your mouth and a reminder that you are doing it. God luck anyone else out there who are still keeping their resolutions alive.

Blimey Hezz. I should get those boots! To be honest exercising at all is really hard for me right now no matter the weather. My lung capacity is very low. I have signed up for pulmonary rehabilitation so when that comes through that should help!

You listen to your auntie Hezz Matt. She speaks the truth..

You listen to your auntie Hezz Matt. She speaks the truth.. Indeed she does! I've had some luck with plasters before so will give that a bash - once they are 'normal' I tend to stop worrying them so much with other fingers when I'm not thinking about it. Anyway enough of my gross habit ;D

Not gross, we all have things we wish we could stop doing. It took a really bad case of the mumps for me to stop chewing my nails Couldn't eat a thing for about a week, only liquids, so the nails got a reprieve, and I have never started again. Like you, once they were normal, I didn't go near them again. I do tend to put my fingers in my mouth a lot (yuk) but I think that is the reflex action that started the nail-biting. And I drink more than I should.
