For what it is worth, having one bud with liver disease - over-long beak - and others with lipomas which indicate that their livers are not working to full capacity, I've not, in any of them, had a yellow staining around their poops. When Misty has one of his "attacks", his poops overnight are usually quite green. With Bailey, I had noticed his "gut" in one of the photos a while back. Will see if I can find it.

I don't think this is the photo I had in mind, but it does show here. I think this was from back in April.

Yes Hezz , ive gone back over some past photo's and can see it in some but not others, now i'm looking for it, it very much depends on the way he's standing and being heavily feathered he has hidden it well. Ive been watching him this morning and its very much, now you see it, now you don't. It's interesting re the poop, he will be on close poop watch, so thanks for that. When Misty has one of his flare up's do you increase the Milk Thistle or do anything different for him, also did i read a short while back that his beak doesn't need trimming as much these days?, i can't find where i thought i read about that. It's all business as usual this morning, he is non the worst for his little drama yesterday

skysmum, Misty's flare-ups usually result in him vomiting over an hour or so, usually mid afternoon. I have tried to give him some milk thistle straight into his beak, but I don't think it gets a chance to work. I usually give them an extra drop in their water then, and the next day, and like I've said, the overnight poops are quite green. He looks miserable for a time but then usually goes back to his grass twiddling once he is feeling better. Your memory is spot on - I don't trim his beak any more. I do check it to make sure it isn't getting crumbly but it has been good for a long time now. His chronic sinusitis is more of an issue lately. We never managed to kill that off but I'm loathed to put him through any more antibiotics.

Poor Misty, he's had a lot to contend with bless him. I'm pleased his liver issues seem to be stable atm at least

It does seem relatively stable except for these vomiting times. I'm trialing a new feeding routine for him and Spyro atm. The pair of them will always sit up in Loki's cage during the day because I kick them out of their cage - no sitting around eating randomly - but that meant they would dive into Loki's food pot - seed and pellets mixed or forage on the floor of the cage for seed. So now they only get their grass during the day, Loki's seed/pellet mix is over under his tree and only pellets in his cage, and the two fat little boys only get a teaspoon of seed each in the evening, mixed through with some of the fine pellets so they have to find them, and if they eat an odd pellet or two, so be it. So far so good and they haven't wised up to Loki's seed being in the kitchen. Fingers crossed that they don't.

Now i have a picture in my head of two fat little boys sat up somewhere discussing the possible whereabouts of said seed and how to find it without the seed police cottoning on to their plan

Yes, it's a bit like that. They've been all over Loki's cage looking for the secret stash and last night could barely wait for it to get dark to bust into their own cage. Spyro was trying to upend "his" seed pot from outside and Misty was hanging off the door trying to find a way in They've cottoned on early to the fact that their seed is only replenished in the evening. It's only been about a week and half and on Saturday's weigh-in both were down a couple of grams which may or may not be of significance. They can vary as much as 4-5gms between weighings.

Ahhh it seems to be working then and of course they will be working some of it off too in their frantic search, it's working two fold, rations and keeping them busy

These two have never been squabblers, but with only a limited amount of seed on offer, they were. Very quietly and rather gentlemanly about it, but squabble it was, hence the second seed pot.
Spyro has also been a bit naughty in trying to chat up the lady-hen. That has also led to a couple of scuffles, mostly instigated by Spyro trying to tell Misty to take a hike, and Misty coming back with a "bu**er off yourself, she's my girl". If either of them asked for my opinion, I'd tell them "Spyro, you're dreaming; Misty, you've got nothing to worry about".
