I want to get some extra Canary seed to add to my buds food mix. But all of the online shops I have found charge a huge amount of postage.
I only want to get 1-5kg and ideally don't want to spend more than a tenner, you'd think it possible wouldn't you. One of them charges £5.99 just to deliver 1kg!

Try your local petshops Marianne, you may pay a bit more for the seed , but it will still be cheaper than paying postage

pet shops usually can find some for you as has been mentioned . Sometimes for cheaper than online too (although it's rare)

We are more fortunate here in the North of England. There are bird sales at Carlisle and Wigton on a regular basis on Sundays with a burger van and a seed van. My last 20 Kilo bag of plain canary purchased there cost me £14.90. Nest boxes etc are also available as are various medications. There is also a wholesale pet-food supplier near Carlisle who takes young Budgies off me at £6 each and sells his seed at about £17/18 per 20 Kilo. 6 surplus young birds buys a bag of canary and one of tonic or white millet.
