i feed my budgerigars a "specal budgie" seed mix which consists mainly of millets and a small amount of canary seed, is this mix to rich in millets for everyday feeding? and would a 50/50 mix be better as it contains more canary seed, or maybe on the other hand would a home made mix of a number of seeds be more suitable?

Plain canary seed should be the main portion (around 50%) of the seed mix, the rest made up of a blend of White, Red & Panicum Millet Seed.

For some reason, mine love canary seeds, millet comes next if there are no canary seeds left.
