Tried to reply to the original "Advice Please - Monty has a bad foot" and it wont let me?! So I have stated a new thread. Just wanted to thank you Hezz for your advice - second to none and am sure that she has either dislocated or has a ruptured tendon in her toe. Am sure that she pulled it too hard when she caught it a couple of days before we noticed her carrying it. But will be giving her a bit of rest for a couple of days and will monitor it from there. Have felt it and she still knows I am touching her foot and it is still warm like the other foot so assume that is a good sign. She didnt complain when I had a look so presume that is a good sign as well. So fingers crossed it will right itself! But as I said I will monitor. Many thanks again

That's all you can do, Sam. So it didn't seem as though she was concerned with you touching, moving her toe? Can't be too sore then, anyway. I am sure she will get used to it in no time, if it doesn't go back into line. It's all good news. PS I think I may be the culprit, regarding your other Monty thread. It was locked, and I can only think that I somehow locked it by accident. Sorry! I have unlocked it again.

Thanks Budgiefriend, lets hope so! And no Hezz she didnt seem concerned with me touching or manipulating her toe at all. So hopefully she will get used to it in no time. Have given her some rest for the next couple of days (will keep the ice pack standing by) LOL!
And ooops about the other thread! Never mind, am just so grateful for your time and advice.
Best wishes - Sam & the Mont-ster ;D

All good signs. Sounds like Monty will be her silly self in no time. Keep us posted. Just for a quick update - I think Monts foot is improving. We have not let her out for at least a week until yesterday (or an assessment). Her foot is not curling over as much, just seems like her big toe at the end instead of the whole foot. Dunno if I am right but would seem to me that this is a tendon pull as still no inflammation, blood, redness or swelling (after all tendons do not have a blood supply) so rest seems like the order of the day. Will give another week in and despite her cage being HUGE! - Her foot is placed round the wooden perches in the same position so therefore keeps her foot splinted? Seems to be working. Fingers crossed! Thanks again to everyone for their advice and support

Glad that she is improving. Let us hope that she makes a full recovery and is back to her biting self

Agree, Marianne. Would be good to compare that toe to what it was like before.

Can we have some updated photos of Monts? Hi Guys Back with a video this time! This might not show much at all, but this is Mont when she is on a perch. Sometimes she can look like she is a tad unsteady, but her foot is round the perch in the position we want it. View My VideoBut as you can see from the pic below, it someimes curls back if she is on a flat surface. (We are not encouraging that position if we can help it hence leaving her in) Very frustrating for both me & Mont, as we are leaving her in to rest it as much as possible. Only let her out today briefly for another weekly assessment. Any thoughts or comments appreciated!

I'm wondering if she has broken some of her toes. Did she have a fall or fly into something a bit too hard?

I'm wondering if she has broken some of her toes. Did she have a fall or fly into something a bit too hard? No she didn't - but as it happens she did catch her foot in my t-shirt a couple of days beforehand. Thats what lead me to believe it was more of a pull than a break? I do try and wear non catch material as she loves to climb all over me! But you know what they can be like Getting back to what Hezz said, could it be a dislocation?
