I really think so, still, Sam. In that photo though it looks like both front facing toes are curled under. I don't think you need to keep her in though. Regardless of where she is, she is still going to have to use her foot, so why not enjoy her company and allow her to fly about - it's not her wing that needs resting. In the video she seemed to be fine to me, toes in the right position. Would be easier on a perch as her toes will naturally be curled some anyway. Smudge, my hen, is the only one of the three whose claws are sharp enough to catch in clothes, and originally I clipped her claws thinking it would help her not get so caught up so often, but all that happened was she tended then to fall off things, as her little claws weren't as sharp as she expected, lol. Just a thought, but I wonder if leaving her on perches now may not hinder rather than help her progress......... it has been three weeks now (?) and back to my other thought there about perches and toes curling around, it may be better to get her into "physio" with walking on flat surfaces if it doesn't hurt her too much of course, so that she has the need to stretch the toe out in front of her rather than curled. You may of course have to help the toe straighten somtimes, but if she will do it herself, all the better. That is the way I would go, if she were my bird. But gently of course, and for short periods to start with, as well.

I agree with Hezz. Also if her toe/s are broken, don't worry, she will adapt and get around perfectly well.
Lilek has a broken toe (was like that when we rehomed him)- it's meant to be back facing but it faces forward. He gets about fine.
Monty does too and it's almost-permanently crossed over another toe. They are both able to climb, walk and fly, they work it out.

Great advice guys, thanks to you both. Perhaps I will let her out albeit a short time to start with and see how we go. I have missed her and I know she has missed me as she is forever calling for me in her little way. I'll have to see if I can get a vid of her doing it as it is really quite funny! Despite her not talking, she does have a language all of her own, she even mimicks you coughing?! But thanks again and will keep you posted

Physiotherapy started today.... Had to be coaxed with her favourite nibble... ... her foot seemed reluctant in the beginning but not long (and naturally) it did manage straighten out. She'll be back playing football in no time! I dunno... these metatarsel injuries ;D

Looks good, huh. I totally agree with the others. Let her out to enjoy herself while her foot heals. She seems really happy in those photos. Let's hope the foot comes right with time.

That's great that Monty is getting her physio, lol. I think it will help no end, and who knows which team she'll be playing for? Bribery is always an option if cooperation isn't happening.

Like yours, it was some kind of cage injury that just took a little while to fully recover. They are too good at getting themselves into trouble, little blighters.
