Hello Everyone. My name is Laura and I've had a baby budgie (10weeks) for coming two weeks now. The breeder sold me a cage but I've just purchased a new one (Maxime) I'm not sure about the quality but the size seems good.
I'm looking a little help on where to put my perches. So far I've only purchased 2 natural perches but I'd be happy to add anything to make Mikey happy.
I hope I can add a wee picture to show what I've got so far

Hi Laura, welcome to the forum. Look forward to seeing some pictures of your new cage and your little budgie. Does he/she have a name. Once we see your pics we will help in any way we can. Budgies love toys, especially mirrors.

Hi Laura and welcome to you and Mikey. Mirrors, bells - stainless steel, of course - and swings are generally necessary requirements in a budgie cage. Placing things in the cage so that Mikey has the most amount of space to flit between perches is the best; you will see heaps of cage set-ups that are terribly overcrowded, not giving the bird room to move around inside. You want to encourage him to exercise and move about as much as possible. Below is a link to a sticky I made a while back regarding what to use and what not to use; you might find it helpful: budgerigarsforum.proboards.com/thread/2204/budgie-safe-materials-toys-etc
