Hi, can anyone give us some ideas for a none expensive aviary we can set up for our current pair of budgies? We just think now the weather is better they'd appreciate to be out and flying about. We can't afford hundreds though ? Just want to improve their life and maybe add another one or pair. Thanks in advance.

I would start with looking at pictures of aviaries on the internet.
Next I would have a rough idea of how much I want to spend and how much I cold afford.
Third stage: Pick a site, measure up.
Try a few pencil sketches so you can begin to have an idea of a basic design.
Some people keep their birds out just in warmer weather so a simple four-sided flight with a covered roof an area for night-time shelter would do the job.
No matter what the size or design I would aim to include a safety-door so there's no chance of your birds whizzing past you as you go into the flight.
I have found a solid floor that is vermin proof is a huge advantage - paving stones might be the easiest way to achieve this.
Price up: timber, flooring, wire-mesh, roofing material...... that'll be a good start.
Have fun.
