Hello! We plan on getting two budgies this November ( I researched everything: large cage, vet care, 2-3 out-of-cage hours a day- all planned ) but I just relized that my parents booked a family holiday on the Canary Islands this Decmber for a week ! Do you think I should go on and get them in November or will it hinder the taming process? Should I wait till Christmas? Thank you!

It would possibly be better to leave it until you return from holiday as leaving them for a week so soon after getting them could raise problems. Who will look after them, keep them clean and change their food and water while you're gone? If you get them when you've settled back after your holiday that'll give you and them time to adjust and get to know each other

I'd wait until you have had your holiday. Also what will you do for future holidays? It's best to make these plans.

Hello! Yes, I think it would be better to wait. We have several friends who I have spoken to, and they will be happy to care for them for future holidays. Although usually we go on holiday in the Country (England) such as renting a cottage in Scotland or something similar Thanks for the advice- I really value it!
