That was so cute watching the little ones running around following eachother.it reminds me of when our chineese painted quails had theres and they were smaller.they are also very very quick compared to when they get older. Thanks for putting it on here,i love quails. sue

Did anyone manage to count those chicks? I got 14 a couple of times, but still wasn't sure. What a tribe! And happy families are always good to see.

I never thought about it when i first saw it but when i posted it on forum and watched it again i was thinking "blimey he's got a few brothers and sisters" . I counted 13 and 14 a couple of times, and then gave up ;D ,i think i'll go for their being 14 little bundles of fluff .

Thanks, Ryan I had to pause it a couple of times to count them all, but then the picture lost resolution. (An even bigger family than Barrie's, lol) Do quails have such large clutches?

It is normal for Quail to have clutches that size, mine frequently hatch out 14/15 chicks a go I do love Californian Quail, kind of miss ours lol.

Wow 15 chicks, good for breeders Most people just collect the eggs and incubate them they don't let them parent rear A lot of captive bred ones now have lost the instinct to parent rear so they simply won't sit the eggs.
