We have Teddy home. He's been allowed home for the night to see if we can get him to eat. He needed 2 lots of tablets so we tried a bit of ham and he scoffed it down. He's had a whole slice of ham now, not the best food to give hi but the vet said try anything to get him to eat but we have to be careful as he's not on insulin because of his not eating. He has a big lump on his neck where they've been injecting him so much. Poor baby he's still poorly but much better.

They weren't going to let him go but when we went to visit him he perked up so they said maybe we should try him at home for the night. We have the option to take him back at any time if he goes downhill again. He has to go back tomorrow to check him but hopefully we can restart his insulin then and get him back to himself. We are still waiting for test results to see if it's pancreatitis but typically it's a bank holiday so we have to wait until Tuesday. He's on pain meds, antibiotics, appetite stimulant and an anti sickness ans well as antacid.

Really hoping this goes well for Teddy. Sounds like he has been through a lot a battles already.
On a lighter side though I did scan the posts rather quickly and I was wondering how they'd put a drip in a budgie!

Daisy Teddy is my 15 year old dog, he has diabetes, is blind and deaf so is really coming to the end of his little life sadly but his vet thinks he's still ok for now.

Great news, my little tough cookie is home and doing great. He's eating well and taking his pills like a good boy. No more vets for a while we hope. The test results will be in tomorrow but we are hoping it's a bug that is going round our area. There have been so many dogs admitted with the same symptoms, while we were there today another one came in, the vet has said there is a lot of it about. Thank you for all your support, it's really helped.
