Hi every one! I have just last month taken ownership of 2 cheeky baby budgies. Names were a nighmare to decide between me and my partner. names we decided on was Lily (white) and Gladys (green) named after the flowers lily and gladioli I have always loved birds. i grew up from the age of 3 with an avery next door of about 50 birds (finchs, budgies, quail, lovebirds etc) and loved the chirps and squawks. These 2 are a handful, super loud and very adventurous. Lily had within 1 week figured out how to get out of the cage by lifting the food/water doors (now pegged down) please ignore the yellow on Lilies face, i had just tried a new food with her, she loves it but it stains her a bit

Welcome to the forum, I looked at your buds in the other thread. The new cage looks like what we call the Hamberley. A good strong resilient cage. If it is the same cage as what I have you may be as well making the little doors at the sides secure or else Lily might find a way to freedom. I notice you have the perches going longways across the cage, well mine love to fly across that space so I have the perches going back to front. Lovely looking buds. I bet you will have many hours of enjoyment with them.

Instead of using the perches that come with the cage, see about sourcing some tree branches that are budgie safe. Without knowing what trees you might have available, you can search for budgie safe trees and find plenty of websites to guide you. Just make sure you cross-reference as not all sites will give the same info.
