Progress is still progress! Well done you! Such a great feeling, I'll never forget it - its like when you catch your first fish you will never forget that feeling 9 times out of 10 there will always be one bolder than the other but as soon as the other one sees it is missing out it will join in the fun! Dont be surprised if one day you take a step back with training (its perfectly normal) - just write it off as a non day and continue with the same routine and they should fall back into it again You have lovely budgies! LOvely pictures

Keep up the good work, I feed my boys every night when they are in their cage for the night, they see me coming with something and its a case of who can get on my hand first, they'll get used to the routine and come to expect it, the more you do it the friendlier they will become.

Just yesterday I managed to get Leo on board! Such a cool feeling. Slowly working on gabe. He only gets nibbles when he steps up onto my finger.
....but im a softie so I usually cave and give him some anyway

Taming and training may be slow but it is so rewarding when one of them actually does as you want. The down side is that on many occasion there is the step backwards and one has to press on through it. Keep going and you will reap the rewards. Two things are really required, time and patience. Keep repeating because if you don't they forget, very conveniently.

thanks samwiseg. I started them reall early on so i guess that helps. and its kinda my escape after a stressful day, so every day i spend an hour with then, just playing round. Gabe is almost too keen to jump on my hand now, i cant get a chance to convince Leo!

Gabe is almost too keen to jump on my hand now, i cant get a chance to convince Leo! I feel you you may find that Gabe is controlling that situation. Gabe will be telling Leo to keep his beak out, you are top of the pecking order and Gabe is second. It is right that you are the leader of the flock and that is what you want. I wouldn't mind betting that if you managed to get Leo on your hand before Gabe that Gabe would be right there and push Leo out of the way. This is how I have found things to work with a flock of these guys. Yes, the three of you are now a flock.

It is very early days though as when I got Barney and Wiggy to start with we thought Barney was going to be head of the pecking order! How wrong could we have been?
