Our whippet, Cassie, just can't seem to stop doing herself damage! First it was her elbow, and several days house rest plus painkillers as a result, then her foot, possibly broken, but we thankfully don't think so anymore, however that was another week of house rest and painkillers. Now she's started being sick and may have eaten currants or something else poisonous! So now she's back to the vets for a sit and wait (they'll see her as soon as they have a chance).. Geez...

Oh whippets are such delicate creatures, they look as if they could break quite easily. Greyhounds are similar but huge, well my daughters have been but still very 'thin'. We're dog sitting him next month for a few days while she treks around the Lakes, I'm going to have to rearrange my house and where I keep the food! I do hope Cassie hasn't eaten anything nasty, they'll eat anything some of them, not a lot one can do about their structure or build though, hope she's ok!

Do so! If greyhounds are anything like whippets, they are right thieves! Cassie even nicks things off the counter if she gets the chance, which is what happened this time.. It's likely it was currants... and I've been reading in multiple places that even a small amount ingested can cause severe, acute kidney failure.. so it's not looking good. And now I’ve read that there is a very poor outlook for dogs who have it… I know I'm only guessing she has it, but it's very worrying..
Update Ok, she's staying in overnight to be safe, on a drip in case there is kidney damage, and having blood work and other stuff done.

She came home the day after, forgot to say. Still seems to have a slightly upset tummy, but seems ok all in all.
