Uploaded with ImageShack.usI bought a new budgie today because my other one died yesterday and I felt sorry for Shadow because he was all alone. Anyway, Shadow is a tiny little budgie, but this new budgie, (the one shown in the photo) is huge. He also looks rough as his feathers are puffed out, he's really fatigue and he doesn't seem to be doing much singing. I know next to nothing about budgies but I think they are fascinating pets and have grown to be very fond of them. I really hope that Bluebell is ok. Can someone help me please? Many Thanks, Cheryl xx Attachments:

blue bell is an adult , he may have early stages of scaly face and he appears to be blown up which may be down to bad bacteria, i would return him and get a 8 week old baby

I don't think I can return him now. Besides, he was the only one they had along with two grey ones. Is there anything that I can do to help him? I have put some vitamins in their water.

If he has scaly face then he needs ivermectin (also known as "spot-on")
Do you have an avian vet near you? - taking him will be the only real way to tell if he does have a bacterial infection as they'll need to run tests on him.
Good luck!

No I don't think I do have an Avian vet near me but I will check. I am entitled to free pet care at the PDSA hospital though.

Yes true. But they can't test for one at the PDSA.
