Looks great and lovely looking buds. I am feeling cold, just thinking about no heating.

Several people I know are happy having no heating for their budgies but the birds do need access to water that is not frozen.
I'm soft - have insulated aviary shed roof and walls and windows... tried a 2' tubular heater but it made not the slightest difference to temperature. Now have a fan heater with a thermostat so can control temperature to nearest degree.
Although my lot are happy to go out in the flight in temperatures nearing freezing, over-night I set a minimum of 5C (same during the day).
If you intend pairing them up during colder months you need to consider possibility of egg-binding in very cold conditions - can be fatal.
For breeding birds I was told a minimum of 10C was needed in the bird room.
Worth asking what other people think. Good luck with the new birds. Looking good.

I use a max/min thermometer to keep an eye on over-night temperatures. I also have a wireless thermometer so the main unit is indoor and the satellite monitor in the aviary shed... I find it useful as it puts my mind at rest - I can check that the heater is doing its job without going into the shed late evening.
Lowest temperatures I've had in the shed recently is about 10 or 11C as I turned the thermostat up a notch. Two new birds from a warmer environment so will gradually reduce the temperatures after the promised cold snap is over in a few days time.
Hope your outside flight is going well. I've been adding an extension for several months!!! Slow to say the least. Hope to have it in use in the spring.
