Read a few past posts and a lot of folk on here were raving about the hamberly cage!
Before I order one I wanted to make sure it's def the best for two wee budgie brothers!
Would appreciate your advice.... FOR THE LOVE OF THE BUDGIES!!! 😜

Hi rm, it's a Hamberley cage I have, and in my opinion it's the best thing I have ever bought my budgies. It is two boys I have and they love it. The cage is sturdy and well built, with plenty of room for two birds. Being on wheels is great too, as it's so easy to move around. I can't praise it highly enough. This is the where I bought mine:- www.littlepetwarehouse.co.uk/products/hamberley-single-metal-large-cage.html

Hello rm, if you have the space then you cannot go wrong with the Hamberley. I spent a small fortune on cages before I found out about this cage. Thanks to jellybean who put me onto it in the first place. Yes I am one of those that ramble on about the Hamberley because It truly deserves being talked about.

I also have a Hamberley .......much easier to clean than the smaller ones they've had. It has a grill floor and a tray underneath. Very good for the price, I've paid more for smaller ones in the past. Only thing I've found is that the two little side doors are difficult to open (for me) and not suitable for hanging the 'regular' budgie type baths. Old pic's sorry if one's blurred! Hopefully gives you the general idea though. This is what they had before the Hamberley

I have something very similar .... it didn't come with a name .... and I wouldn't swap it for the world.

Best to get it set up before the birdies arrive (stating the obvious here!) but it's pretty big and takes a bit of time to erect. Well it did for my husband and me, I couldn't have managed on my own but I'm of the more mature generation and not 100% fit. Hope it goes well and smoothly for you.

Thanks everyone! Cage arriving on Wed and I have bought some natural wood perches and a perch made from shell grains for pedicures! £52 quid!!! Think I need to find a good internet site.
Breeder says he has a blue budgie and a green one for me.

Here are some sites for toys, perches, and toy making parts rm. Naturalbirdco.co.uk Northernparrots.com Lots of us on the forum use naturalbirdco they are brilliant. Karen who owns and runs it is very helpful and will give you great advice. I'm not sure about the shell perch rm as to whether it could give your little buds sore feet. I'm sure others will help on that one.

Thanks Jellybean! Will look into the perch - it can be taken back if not suitable.

I would take it back; the shell perch, that is. If you use natural wood branches for your perches, they don't need anything else. As jellybean has pointed out, they can be rough on their feet - they use their feet when perching, not their claws; their claws only come into play on take-off and landing, climbing and mating. If you have access to willow or apple trees, or better still, eucalyptus, these branches are loved by budgies and they will have heaps of fun keeping themselves and their beaks busy pulling the bark off them. Get brarnches of various diameters, and textures to keep their feet exercised and supple. I hope, also, that you didn't waste your money on sand sheets; newspaper if fine for using on the bottom on the cage. I put newspaper down over the grill, enough sheets down to get through the week, and a quick removal of the top sheets and the cage is clean again for the day.

Hope u can see what I bought. The branches are java and the snaky thing is liana wood. The big java bit was £22 but I liked the size and shape. Maybe I should look on line. So the shell perch is def a no no?! Thanks for help. No sandpaper bought (although breeder did recommend it. He doesn't use tho).

The others look fine; I think the calcium perch is unnecessary, as long as they have some soluble oyster shell grit available, and you can then spend that money on some (more) toys.

Def! When cage arrives and I see what space I have - I may ask to see setups!

Def! When cage arrives and I see what space I have - I may ask to see setups! That maybe upsets in some cases. Good luck with everything. I mean that.
