What do you mean by clicking Mick? as you depress the mouse to left or right click on things......it has a click on the left and right side of the mouse......this drives me made at night....

when I'm on the computer, my hubby goes mad for the continued clicking!! so I put a cushion nover my hand to try and muffle the noise!

Some are quieter than others. Mine is very quiet but I have had some really noisy ones Does the roller part squeak too?

Hmmm. I have never had this problem, but others obviously have. You have to open up the mouse and ping something on the inside, making sure not to lose all the bits when you open it. See here.

I bought a cordless one for 20 UK pound approx and it has the same clicking noise.
Use a mouse pad instead.

The cordless mouse(s?) have to talk to the computer some way, Mick. A USB should come with it. (Listen to me, I almost sound as though I know what I am talking about Mine is reasonably quiet, but I suspect you get what you pay for. Peanuts, monkeys, or in your case, noisy mice/mouses. Surely someone has a brand they can put you onto. Mine is logitech, through Dell.

I don't have a mouse anymore. There's a kind of finger operated trackpad on my laptop.
You'll need to be sure any new mouse you buy is quiet. Or you'll be back to where you started.
