Hi Shelley and your lovely birds. I just wanted to say how refreshing it is to see a US member's birds without their wings clipped. Thank you!!! Could you line them up and name them for us?

Welcome to you all. I was thinking the same thing as Hezz, it's great that their wings are not clipped.

I'm not too many states away from you Shelly. I'm in Kentucky currently, but grew up in Tennessee.
I'm not sure where the wing clipping got traction in the US. When I was first learning budgie care I even had a vet here tell me to do it. Both of mine had clipped wings when I got them. Basal has already learned to fly, but Link is still working on learning when he should have already known. He gets so frustrated even though he has all his flight feathers now; he just can't keep up and looks more like a bat trying to fly.
I know that's off-topic, sorry.
Anyway, welcome. I come and go from being active on here because of my current life, but I may be on when other across the globe are asleep.

I have been asked to name my flock I would be happy to introduce these sweet little feather babies The first in the picture going from Left hand side facing is a Fox Trot He is a pied ( Male I am pretty sure 3-4 months old) Next to him is Pickles...He is an Olive green ( I think) and again I think he is a male clutch brother to Fox Trot...next to pickles is Violet and I am not even going to guess at her mutation orrrrrrrrrrrr sex and being she still has banding all the way down I would say she is under 4 months as well...The yellow one behind Violet is Delta....she is actually a grey wing (I think) and around 4 months old as well...Breeder felt pretty sure she is a hen...Beside her is my Whiskey...I am not sure if Whiskey is a male or female but is for sure the bosstress of the bunch....She tends to want to put me in my place as well..warm and fuzzy she is not butttt ...as you know budgies like people come in all flavors she does at I would guess she is under 4 months old and she runs around feeding everyone so I feel she is going to be a very good asset to my little flock Last in the corner peeking in is Tango He is my little nut and the only one clipped out of the bunch he was done so when I got him....He is just now going into his first molt so I am crossing my fingers we get some new flight feathers soon with no issues....He is our resident clown.

It is so nice to meet you I am only a few miles from the Tn line....I have no idea how the wing clipping things got traction in the US...I have one clipped but he is a baby and hitting his first molt so I have my fingers crossed there is no damage and we can get him flying like the others....it is so sad to open the cage door and watch them all fly out and there Tango sits at the door wanting to go as well.....I have learned so much from reading here...I am so thankful I found all of you.

Thank you If I clipped my birds I would rob myself of my favorite view of a budgie I love nothing more than to see them in flight...I feel this is truly where you see all of their color in its most amazing glory

Hi Shelly. I have to admit I'm slightly envious because you have truly beautiful birds there, but my favorite has to be Violet, I just love her markings, I'm definitely no expert on mutations but I would say she's a grey, fullbody greywing with an extra touch of adorability for good measure, I know I'm a little late but welcome to the forum !

I feel you are right I have been trying to capture her color correctly to ask if anyone had any idea of her mutation...There is just something so graceful about her and she is so calm....I do not push mine when they are new I am in and around them a great deal they have a big cage I roll around with me ....I am in their cage a great deal and she just flew on my arm today like hi how are you She is my favorite
