Hello everyone in Mike I'm living in Birmingham UK When I was a small boy my Dad always had and bred budgies and it's been on my mind ever since I'm now 36 with my own 4 year old son who I want to share what my father showed me when I was a child so I've gone ahead and invested in my first aviary It's all set up now and ready for my first birds so any advice you guys can share will be greatly appreciated I'd upload some pics of my aviary bum am unsure of how to do so

Hi Mike, welcome to the forum. Exciting stuff to look forward to, for you and your little boy. You are best going to an image hosting site such as Photobucket or tinypics, (thats the one I use). Look forward to seeing your set up. How many buds are you hoping to get. Good luck with it all.

Greetings and welcome, am sure the family will all enjoy the buds. Only advice I can offer is the size of the indoor flight room will govern the numbers, also would recommend some heating on a sat for the cold winter nights. I have aviary for my lot, the indoor flight is approx. 5 X 4 X 3 (l x h x w) and with loads of perches I have a flock of 12 . Outside can be as big/small as you like imo mine have access to both during the day... hth cheers ... steve

Hello and welcome to our forum, Mike. That's a good thing to be doing with your little boy, teaching him about the birds (if not the bees, just yet ) and sharing something together. The only advice I will offer is don't overcrowd them.
