Hi, all,
I've got 2 budgies and I've had them for 5 days. I tried to use the technique pinned on this forum, but, since my cage is so big, they fly to a part I can't get to, and it ends with my budgies hating me. Any help?
Thanks!

For taming processes, you need a whole heap of time and patience. Be persistent. Five days is a spit in the ocean, when it comes to taming and training birds. These creatures are not cats or dogs - used to human companionship for hundreds or thousands of years!!!! Have a smaller cage that you can move them to for interaction time.

Should I only put one budgie into the smaller cage? Just temporarily while I train it.

Work with them singly - on their own - and work with them together. My recommendation is to work with each on their own and then have them together and try to reinforce the training when they are both together. They will not be as responsive while together but need to learn to respond to you at any time.

How long should I keep them separated?

Only while you are working with them.
