What stunning birds, love the 'pic of the chic'. I think, realistically I would miss the beautiful red of the comb and wattles!! As is said in the link 'I wonder if they lay black eggs?'

Oh my - at first glance I thought it was an April Fool as the first picture looked like one of those garden ornaments! But my I never thought it possible! Could that happen in budgies? Someone I knew that used to be a budgie fancier was trying to breed the "black budgie" and I honestly thought it wouldn't be possible. Closest thing being this:
But after seeing this....could it be?

My two 'Blue' Orpingtons had those colours in them starlingqueen, Hezz. They were actually black and were stunning especially in the sunshine which seemed to catch the colours.

My old girl Willow was black and white and her black feather shone in the sun too.

Most black birds do, I think. We have what are called metallic starlings; they can be almost any colour in the sun.
