As the newbies coop is so small they come out on a daily basis to play in a little run I have literally thrown together, just to keep them separate from the older girlies. I sit out there all the while they are in this run, for several reasons which I won't go into here!! Anyway, Aurelia loves to sit and relax and this is one pic of her with Mollie and Hettie (yes a name change already): A casual pose by Flickr This is Mollie and Aurelia nibbling grass (tea for two) in the afternoon: Afternoon tea for two by Flickr This is Hettie, sitting with the big girlies: Sitting with the big girls by Flickr

Aww, Hettie knows she belongs with the buffs. Is there are chance, with five, that one will be on the outer? Or are they more like budgies, and more inclined to just mix it up?

I have got six chooks Hezz, Tuppence, Tilly, Dusty and the three babies. They will have their pecking order. I got Aurelia (the lacewing) as she is a bit of an 'oddball' as far as colour is concerned, hoping that Dusty won't feel so quite the odd one out. Whether this will work (I doubt it) but I tried!

Good idea I think to do that, as didn't I recall you say there was a "colour prejudice" among chickens?

Ah, I missed one, then, Shirls. Sorry about that. I am positive budgies have colour preferences/prejudices, so can understand that chooks might have as well.
