Such little heads for such big bodies ... of course most of the bulk is feathers, but still.

I'll bet they loved that Shirls. Out to have a little wander and a nosey round the garden. Gorgeous babies.

I am handling the baby chickens every day now, to get them used to things (like medication if/whenever necessary) and I had Aurelia sitting on my lap and I took this: Feathers by Flickr

Are the babies..er..still babies? What I mean is what time do you refer to them as...ladies I call my older girls 'girlies' and I must admit I am beginning to call the babies 'girlies' now because they are over 20 weeks. 20 Weeks is 'point of lay' so they should start laying soon. Having said that it is only Molly that has the red wattles and her comb is reddening up too, so I expect she will be the first to lay. Hopefully this will kick start the two older Buffs back into laying and then when Dusty is fully recovered hopefully she will re-start too. BUT they are ALL going through one hell of a moult at the moment which does delay things somewhat. So annoying, haven't been able to eat a decent egg for ages now. I also call the chooks 'girls and boys' sometimes (that's how I refer to all the buds in the mornings and night times - saying night night etc., boys and girls!!! I really do get confused sometimes with all these birdies!!!!
