One of my hens, Lilah, in the aviary is, I think, really ill. I have just been in to check on them and she was sat all puffed up with gunk on her beak and white frothy stuff in her mouth when I saw her open her beak. I immediately picked her up, something she would never let me do usually, and tried to clean the stuff off her beak but its hard and won't come off. I have put her in a separate cage but she is just sat there closing her eyes and froth is coming out of her mouth. I have never had a budgie ill like that before so I don't know what to do. Yes I am panicking so need advice as soon as humanly possible. What do I do?!
Also one of the boys, Dexter has been preening her back and face as much as he could the past day or two, could he sense that she is ill? Is he at risk too? Lilah seems to have two of the males, Dex and Theo, always following her, preening her, and feeding her. Is this normal? To have two males with one hen?

Thanks Gaile, she is in a separate cage and I have made sure the aviary is warm for her. She is drinking quite a lot, don't know if that is good or bad. She doesn't seem any worse, but doesn't seem any better either :/

Good luck with her, Rachael. At least with her drinking you don't have the added worry of her dehydrating.

I suspect it is canker /tricho and all the birds need treatment as it is contagious , order some tricho plus on line. Treat your birds every 6 months as a preventive
Isolate the bird asap

So as not to waste any, I divided the power into quarters and adjusted the water needed accordingly as I don't need a lot of water daily for my nine.

Will it really be canker Barrie? Just read a bit on it and you have worried me. She is no longer bringing up the frothy stuff, but she is clearly weak and shaky. She has been drinking a lot of water, is this a sign of canker? She hasn't eaten any seed though but I have put a millet spray in to try and entice her. I am also worried that if it is canker that the treatment won't get here quick enough, should I take her to my vets?

Oh and she is isolated in that she is in a breeding cage while the others are in the flight, I separated her the second I realised she was ill. Should I bring her into the house away from the others?

I'd bring her into the house Rachael, she'll be monitored better that way.
