I can't remember all the in's and out's, but Adobe didn't want anybody using their flashplayer without they got it from Adobe themselves. You would need to sign up wit Adobe to get the download code and it was bloated with adverts for Adobe and anything else.

Marianne Marlow, I remebmer you saying that you were using a Linux operating system but I can't remember which flavour you had. The file you need should be in the repos for whichever system you have. On my system the packge is simply called flash-player-plugin But it is packaged for Mageia which is what I use. You will need to get it from wherever you get your repos from. If you know what I am talking about.

Thank you for the move. That Adobe does cause problems. I can see from the reply you got that you also need the Google Pepperflashplayer. I already had Chrome browser installed so I had the Google version of flashplayer installed. Now you need your version of the PepperFlashPlayer. Here is a good read for you.

On here: wiki.debian.org/PepperFlashPlayer/Installing#Debian_9_.22Stretch.22It says Installing Pepper Flash Player Debian 9 "Stretch" Pepper Flash Player is available in the contrib section of Stretch. To make stretch contrib packages available on your system, add a line like this to /etc/apt/sources.list: deb http://http.debian.net/debian stretch main contrib After adding the repository to your sources, update the local index: apt-get update So I have done that, hope I have not broken anything. Just waiting for the update to finish.

Did you close Firefox and restart it? You can check if the plugin is installed or not by selecting 'Add-ons' in Firefox menu, then you will have a selection for 'plugins'. This should show you all the plugins installed.

I did close and restart firefox. These are the plugins: Don't worry about it if it's too much hassle. I can learn to live with it

It's no hassle to me. If you want to dig a little deeper you can go into the files system and look for the ;so file I mentioned. You said you had a console, is it the bash console that you have? If it is then type locate libfreshwrapper-flashplayer.so That should tell you if you have it on your system or not. If you have had enough then I understand.

This is the sort of thing I used to love doing. I now have to do it insmaller doses, maybe that's not a bad thing. Seeing as console is lacking the command you will have to go hunting yourself. I'm not sure how the directories are named with Deb, it's a long time since I worked with it. do you have a directory called '/usr/lib64/' ? I assume you are on a 64 bit computer.

My netbook is 64bit but I just found that out recently, so the version of debian 9 I am using is only 32bit.
root@marianne:/# cd /usr root@marianne:/usr# dir bin games include lib local sbin share src
