I just had to share this, it is so lovely. You must also listen to the words to the song they are so applicable to the video.

I can't watch it. Having had ex batts I know what they go through, it's too painful to watch it.

I must admit that I couldn't watch most of it either. I skipped to the end. Even then I felt sad.

Queenie, Belle and Ruby at least get a second chance at a good life. I liked it; thank you, Shirls.

Oh Wendy and Marianne, it is a really happy ending, doing what chickens do. You should really have watched it to the end. I know you've had ex-batts starlingqueen and have no doubt fully experienced watching them do what chickens naturally do.

Shirls don't get me wrong, it's lovely that they have been given a second chance.
I just get very upset (as we all do) when watching a bird or other animal that has suffered.
I also feel some guilt, as in the past I have bought eggs that were not free range organic, but that was through ignorance and a loong time ago.
Unfortunately we have no control over whether our other products use battery eggs. I think they should be made to use only free range organic.

The good news is there are no more battery hens. They are no longer kept in tiny cages anyway. they are still kept in barns with no free ranging and in cramped conditions and they still have their beaks cut to prevent them pecking each other so only a very small improvement but it's a start, they can at least scratch as nature intended.

So there are some even though they are few, improvements for housed chickens. I also think Marianne Marlow that we all did things a long time ago that we wouldn't do now as far as buying eggs, as well as other things. A lot of that due to lack of knowledge or experience. At least we are all improving so that's a plus in my book.
