that I have to report that I had to make the 'decision' yesterday to have Missy pts. She had been with me the longest time, and must have been nearly 7yrs old. Being an exhibition budgie, I think she did pretty well. Her twin sister, Lacey, passed a year or so ago now.
She has had a lump on her wing for quite a number of months now (she has had them before and been to the vet to have them removed) but this time, because of her age I wouldn't risk putting her through an anaesthetic. And, she was pecking at it on a regular basis over the past two weeks, making it bleed, and losing quite a lot of blood each time. So the decision was made really before I took her to the vet. The vet did offer to give her some Baytril ..... what that would achieve I really had doubts!!!
Night night little poppet, fly high with all our other dearly departed feathered friends.
Sorry for your loss, it sounds similar to the lump Pickle had on his wing that also saw his end. Fly high Missy. R.I.P.
