I hate that they go on til all hours and especially on a week night, I think it shouldn't be allowed. I like watching controlled Ines, but hate there's no respect for anyone if they don't fancy being awake til 2 or 3am.
As for pets, so many are scared

Last night was awful for her. She shook for hours and hours. Luckily they didn't last into the early hours like they have on previous years, so she did settle to go to sleep.
Dreading tonight.

Aw, that's terrible, poor thing. I saw some kind of wrap that you can put around a nervous dog that is meant to help. It's about half way down this page: stories.barkpost.com/diy-anxiety-wrap/

I so feel for people that have dog's that are terrified, we had a whippet cross and she was awful, she used to go up stairs and open the sliding door underneath our divan bed and bury herself in there. A friend of mine has the same issue with her little dog and has brought some spray, its Pet Remedy natural spray from petsathome, she sprays her beds and the room and it really seems to calm her. Thankfully my little Jack Tilly isn't afraid, she will even go out for a wee when they are going, not bothered at all. However if its windy outside she hates it and wants to hide, go figure

I'n previous years the vets prescribed meds which didn't work. We even went away in the camper one year to the middle of nowhere and we still encountered fireworks, there is no getting away from them. Will let you know how scarf technique goes.

Well I did not get chance to try the scarf technique. She went in her den and the fireworks stopped. She'd worked herself into such a frenzy she'd worn herself out. Whilst she slept there were a few more bangs but not loud enough to wake her. Thanks god it's over for another year.
I will remember the scarf technique though for future purposes.

Poor sausage, hopefully she's less scared this morning.

I also hope she has had chance to calm down now. It must be terrible for them. My daughter has a Staffie cross and they are such wonderful dogs, but very sensitive to sudden noises.

Glad she managed to settle enough to sleep clt80. I feel so sorry for animals at this time of year.

She's right as rain this morning.
She will not want to go on walks when it's dark, they usually get walked at teatime and it's already dark then. I think she associates the night with loud bangs.

For the love of God.
I have come home and BANG....fireworks going off.
It's Monday night. We've had fireworks all weekend. Why are idiots still setting them off now.
She was soundly asleep on the sofa. Bang. Her eyes opened and she ran upstairs into the bathroom and started going berserk with the bath mat.
I'm really angry. She's a quivering wreck again.
Marianne - I'm going to wrap that scarf around her, see if it helps calm her.

I've seen a friends dog on facebook and he hid himself under a blanket.
Hope she's all better now.
