Hi,after all this time,i come to say that i m no longer a budgie owner.I ll concetrate to canaries and goldfinches(the ones you like Barrie ) for this year at least.I need your help now. In facebook, one friend of mine has a problem with his female canary, the bird is egg bound. They told him some ways,old-time ways i must say,but still useful if going to the vet is not an option,to help it take the egg out...I want to ask you this...I know that this could happen because of the hen s but absortion of the calsium in her.If that s the case, can that be genetical and pass it to at least some of her female chicks??? Also,if you have any articles to give me,any sites, that say bout that,i d be very glad,as we need them as arguments. Thank you

This often happens with maiden hens Panos and it will not affect her female chicks.
I give a double dose of calcium directly into the crop

So there s no chance that it can be genetical, which could pass to her daughters or grandaughters...By crop you mean it s mouth???And you give two drops of liquid calcium in it???
Thank you
