Juli, it takes a while for a new budgie to feel settled and comfortable in a new place and new owner, probably new food, new cage.......everything is different and that is a stressful situation for anyone, but especially for a budgie. One sympton of stress is runny poops. Only worry about the poop if it doesn't right itself once the budgie has settled in, which in some cases can take up to a couple of weeks.
The same goes for seeing her drink. Many times we get the same question from new owners.....I haven't seen my bird drink and I have had it x days now. Drinking seems to be a vulnerable time for budgies, so they wait until you, or anyone else around, is out of the room, or you have covered them up for the night. Again, once the bird is settled and comfortable with her surroundings she will be comfortable enough to have a drink while you are there. So don't sweat the drinking or the runny poops until the bird is at home in it's new enviroment.
But I have to ask, is she in quarantine?
