Is the rule that nest boxes have to be on the same level a ridgid one? As i think i need more nest boxes in the avairy to combat the problems i have been having at the mo as now i have more females than i have nest boxes so there is fighting going on and i havent the space to put any more nest boxes on the same level so they would have to go underneath. So if this is a no no i will have to extend the aviary

put cages in stop colony breeding ....you cant trust budgies ....they will kill each other ...and not just for a nest box... but just till your breeding is finished .....this time...... try ading other nest boxes under the others ..........i hope this saves you chicks...

All nest boxes at the same level and 1.5 to 2 nest boxes per pair.

Thanks for he replies. Mick I don't want to control breed as I really don't like the thoughts of then being in a little cage together and being forced to breed. I like colony breeding in the way that they pick there partner. And they have a lot more space to fly around inside and out. I've only had 1 death that have been caused by another budgie intentionally eating her baby and that was last season then I has this incident this time. Surely you still get deaths with controlled species? BB guess its time to expand
