Hello,We have a question from Japan. What do we get when crossbreeding Dominant Pied and Clearflight Pied? How is the variant called? If you have pictures, please upload them and if you know some webpages about it, let me know as well.

I'm not sure anyone here is qualified to answer you question, but I can say that there are too many variants there to give any sort of definite answer. You would need to know what the parents' parents were, whether the birds are masking any other mutations, whether they are double or single factor pieds etc. From an amateur point of view, the only difference, visually, to a SF dom pied and SF clearfight pied are the wing colouring and chest markings. Interesting question; I did find this ... doesn't really answer your question, but interesting nevertheless: www.al-nasser.co.uk/article9.htm

Thank you for your response. I answered about the breed and genetics of Budgerigars at the Japanese website. The other day, I got a question about the varieties of chicks born after crossing between Clearflight Pied and Dominant Pied. There were several chicks born between SF Dominant Pied and SF Clearflight Pied, and they look like DF Dominant Pied. Therefore, I asked the question here. Thank you very much for your reply.

Sorry I wasn't much help. You might try one of the breeders' groups, particularly in the UK. They would probably be of more help than I could be.
