oh blast! I missed it and we actually (honestly) had a merlin sitting on our garden fence last week! I'm obviously feeding the spuggies too well. I wonder if it's the same one we had way back when the bird of prey caught one and had it for lunch on our lawn!

I wonder if anyone else on here did? I do remember seeing an ad for it too - may have been h2o's website link.

There was a letter in our local mag last month, a woman asking where all the 'sparras' had gone - can't remember where she lived now but it wasn't far because the local mag only has a certain distribution area. Anyway I've replied and said that she needn't worry about spuggies (sparrows) because they are in our garden. I've counted over 20 at one go before now! Think of changing the house from a number to spuggie corner

They know they have free board and lodgings - safe too, obviously. They are not silly, our feathered friends.

Looks like a lot of fun The website says; Big Garden Birdwatch is fun, free, really easy, and only takes an hour. You can do your birdwatch wherever you like - at home, in your local park, or do it as part of a group at one of our events near you. You can also chat about the world's biggest bird survey in our friendly community group.

I do birdwatch in my front room every day. At the moment I can see 9 noisy and very cheeky budgies

I don't think that is quite what they were looking for, Marianne, unless you are taking the cages and hanging them out the window, lol. We can't have 9 little budgies flying off free.
